Last day!!!

Hello faithful readers,

The time has come, today is my last day. I'm excited to be moving on to something else. I think I've told some people, but I will not be going back to school this fall. Rexburg has not worked for me in a long time and I'm finally following my heart and not doing something I hate just because it's what you should do. I therefore will be moving to Cedar City to pay off student loans and take some time to think. I'm excited. For some reason I need to be Cedar, so we'll see what happens.

This summer has been amazing! I've loved having a few visitors! I've loved the hikes I've done, I've enjoyed trying new things, and I've loved the sun! I will post a few more pictures of my recent adventure.

I hope everyone is enjoying the new start of school.

Keep in touch!

Visit from Boston

Hello,

It's been awhile since I've posted, but I was just waiting till something exciting happened. My cousin Matt came from Boston to visit for a few days...man did we have a good time. The poor guy, it looked like someone beat him up. He was sunburned, blisted from hiking, welts from paintball, cuts/burns/scrapes from canyoneering, and tired from running around everywhere. I think he had a good time though, I certainly did.

Just a few more weeks left and then I'm done working here. It has been quite the summmer!

Hope everyone is ready to get started with school again.

Hey people,

I just got back from the Grand Canyon. Jill, Sarah, and I went and had a blast. I've never done a random road trip before....it was so much fun. We ate, slept, hiked, sang, laughed some more, and just had a great time. The grand canyon is just so amazing. I could seriously just look at it for hours and still be amazed. Probably my favorite thing was our camping....for those who know me, camping isn't my favorite thing. Well we had a blast. We drove for about 45 min. on a dirt road, found a spot to park the car and rolled out our sleeping bags next to it. It was so cool! It even started to sprinkle rain a bit, but we stuck it out. I highly recommend going to the grand canyon!!!

the most amazing hike.....

Hey folks....

Saturday, my dad, cousin colin, and I did the Subway hike by Zion's. I'm done a lot of hiking this summer and this was by far the best hike I have ever done!!! I haven't been hiking with my dad in a very long time and we had a blast together. He's a good little hiker. It took us 8 hours to hike, but we did play in water/lunch for about an hour. The hike goes right along the Virgin River and end up at the "Subway" which is a tube like slot canyon. It was the most beautiful hike I have ever done. You actually wouldn't think you were in a desert area. There was tons of water, catails, lots of green, waterfalls, it was awesome! I will personally get anyone who wants to go, permits and a personal guide (AKA---me). Below are a ton of pictures because I just couldn't help myslef. I think you will see what I mean once you see these pictures.

reporting on the best day of my life!

Hey everyone!!!

Yesterday was by far the best day here!!! My friend Nate from school has been working in Mesa, AZ all summer. His brother had and old motorcycle and told him if he fixed it up it was his....Nate took the challenge. Anyways, Nate decided to do a bike trip from Mexico to Idaho and I was on his list of visits!!! He stopped and helped me pull weeds and then we had lunch and he headed off to a hike while I finished work. After work we had dinner and then Nate made a life-long dream come true. He unloaded his bike and took me on a ride through Zion National Park. All of my life I have wanted to do the canyon in a convertible or motorcycle and last night was my turn. It was the most amazing thing I have ever see. Just Nate, me, and the bike cruising through the red rock canyon. I felt like a young rebel college kid jetting off to chase my dreams. Once we got down to the bottom of the canyon we played in the river and talked and watched the sun set and then got back on the bike and cruised by moonlight. When we got back to the resort we started a fire and had smores and laughed and talked some more. The stars were so amazing last night that we decided to go on my favorite night hike.....it was breathtaking. We laid on the sandstone and watched stars for a good couple hours. Nate told me stories of the stars, we watched shooting stars, talked about families and life, and then watched some more stars. It was an amazing day, like a fairytale dream. On the way back though, I almost stepped on a tarantula....that was not cool.

I highly recommend finding an awesome guy or girl and getting a motorcycle and doing Zion National Park at sunset. You will never be the same!!!

Have a great day! I'm still smiling!!!

stepped out of the bubble....

Hey,

Last night a big group of us entered the big city to go see Sound of Music at Tuacahn. It was so much fun! Since we live in a dust bowl in the middle of nowhere, we all get so excited to get out. Everyone got all dressed up and we headed to the big city lights. Andy, Amber, Chris, and I took Andy's "baby." Andy is huge into cars and he has this little sports car that he has put tons of money into. It is one of thoes sweet rides you're always jealous of :) Well he finally let us ride in it and let me tell you, it's a good thing I don't have a fast car :) :) :) It goes so fast that you are pushed back in your seats like in a carinval ride. I LOVED IT!!!! Let me just tell you about the sound system! Sometimes it's nice to be a college kid ;)

The play was so fun! This year the plays are really good. I think you should all take a night and go see one. There are some 50% off nights....that's what I do.

After the play we got ice cream and then headed to walmart. I think the fact that it was 1 am, but it was so much fun. Chris and Andy went swimming earlier that day and since they are little white boys they got fried. So we did a little photo shoot of their burns. Then randomlly there was a large mascot bird that we took pictures with. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. Both Amber and I were dying of laughter. Good times...or as Chris would say, "crazy good times!" Last night was one of thoes nights where I think, "life is good."

Other than that, the only thing to report on is our bathroom problem. Someone (one of my roommates) has clogged our system so we had to move all our stuff off the floor in case it floods. Cross your fingers that doesn't happen. So now we have to run upstairs to use the bathroom, not fun!

I hope everyone is having a good week!
