Hey everyone,
It feels like it's been awhile. Things are going so good here! They moved my to a different location, I'm now in the recreation barn scheduling all of their activities. I love it! I work a normal schedule olf 9-5pm, I get my own office which means I get to run things my way! I also get to be around the kids my age which is also nice. Another thing I've loved about being down there is that I get to work more with the customers. I actually get to help make their stay better instead of being the complaint department at the front desk. Overall, it's great! When I'm not busy I help hook people up to the zip line and rock wall, sometimes when we're slow I tag along on the ATV trips....it's rough :) I'm getting tons of sun and loving it!
Today we had a private school group come from CA, 47 people for zip line and rock wall. The kids were great, their leaders were super nice, and we all had a great morning!
Tomorrow a few of us are doing the cable mountain hike. I'm excited, I'll post pictures when I get back.
Tomorrow's Firday!!!

the hiking continues

Well with a crazy schedule I've had to go hiking in the mornings instead of the evenings. This morning Ronda (the lady I usually I work with at night), headed to observation point. One nice thing about our resort is a lot of the hikes that are in Zion's have trailhead just a few miles from us. It makes it nice because we don't have to go into the park to start hiking. I filled my camelback and we headed off. I've noticed that my hiking turns into good therepy sessions/life lesson sessons. The hike was 7 miles and took us 4 hours and ended up looking over Zion's canyon. We were a lot higher than even angel's landing. It was the most amazing view I have ever seen of Zion's. It just makes me so grateful for the wonderful beauty and being able to live in this area.
Besides the hike we did this morning, the other day I went with Rebecca and did the watchman trail. That was also amazing! I need my friends and family to come visit me so I can take them on the hikes. My goal is to do all the hikes listed in the Zion map. Monday is Angel's Landing day! The following week is deer trap, and maybe cable mountain. Jill and I were going to go to the Grand Canyon in 2 weeks, but I was told there was still snow on the ground. We'll have to see about that trip.
Today my friends from school are coming and we're going to hang out. We'll probably do a small hike in Zion's and then tonight do the canyon overlook at dark. Tonight there is a rodeo, so that should be fun. Anyone who wants to come it will be every Saturday from here on out.
Hope everyone has fun planting gardens and such!

A great day at the Ponderosa!
Hey everyone,
Today was an amazing day!
First, my sister annie came to visit me on her way to St. George. I sent her down the zip line and then we did a little hike in Zion, grabbed some lunch, and finished up the afternoon with ice cream. What would be better than that? She has a sun roof and we rolled down the windows and blasted music all while driving through beautiful Zion's.
Second, this week we had a guest check in and there was a misunderstanding with the cooking facilities. I ended up getting a hot plate and dishes for them to use. Well when he checked out he gave me a $10 tip and then wrote a comment card that said, "Stacey made a difference in our stay." I was quite pleased with myself. Not only that, but it happened when the general manager was there.
Third, I just made a $10,000 dollar reservation! The word got out and the general manager and some employees he dragged with him all came to the front desk and clapped for me. I even got a free candy bar out of it. My general manager seemed quite pleased and gave me the thumbs up. That means a lot coming from him. I think I deserve more than a .75 cent candy bar, but I'll take what I can get.
I'm feeling on cloud nine in concerns with my job.
It's American Idol night, don't forget to watch!
Love you all!

Tender Mercies....
Hello folks,
First I have to say HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I'm sure grateful for the women in my life. I wouldn't have made it without my mom, I have been taught and loved by my aunts, loved by grandmothers, and accepted by my friends mom's. I'm sure grateful! I hope you guys all know how much I love you! I'm grateful for your example, love, faith, and fun personalities!
I had a couple experiences this week that were a sweet reminder of God's love for me. It's easy to get down on myself because I'm always being told by customers that I messed up and then I'm corrected by managers and it's easy to feel forgotten and unloved up here. I had one lady especially upset with me this week and I was trying to explain that an full RV hook-up does not include cable and wi-fi. As she had already told me that I didn't know anything, one of the older men that work here stepped in and took the heat for me. As he walked by me to go explain to this lady he winked at me and gave a little smile. Afterwards when she left a nasty comment card and he took the time to take me to the RV site and show me around so I could explain to future employees. When he dropped me back at the resort he said, "To hell with that lady!" It meant a lot to me that he would step in and take her heat and then take the time to show me what an RV site looked like. There really are some amazing people in this world! Yes, I've had quite a few jerks, but it has made me more grateful for the nice people.
The other tender mercy came today. I'm faced again with my future. I would rather not got back to BYU-I but I don't know what else to do. I've looked at different schools, traveling :), working, but nothing seems to be right. I try not to let it consume me, but it's still hard to have that weight on my back. I've also struggled with fitting in here. I work the opposite schedule from everyone else, so I don't get to go to hardly any staff activities. That's hard for me because that is the main reason I came down here. So with those two things I had a heavy heart as I went to church today. Well for those of you who don't know, my bishop is my uncle Eric and today he called me in to talk with him. I was called to be the FHE rep. for our resort along with another guy from our resort. It was a blessing from my Heavenly Father. He knew I wanted to be included and making friend so he put me in charge of getting the activities together. As I was being set apart by my uncle, after he mentioned my calling he said that my prayers would be answered in concerns with my career, family, and my future. That was directly from my Heavenly Father, my uncle/bishop didn't know my heart was worrying about those things but he was inspired and directed to give me a message from my Heavenly Father. All the way home from church I had an overwhelming feeling of my Heavenly Father's love and mindfulness of me. Sometimes I forget and get down, but today I was reminded that I am not just left on my own power. He is mindful of me and what I am going through and it's all in His hands.
I would say to all of you, don't forget about God's love. Life's hard and it's easy to forget and get down. I'm going to try to find the good in people and the blessing each day I'm here.
The gospel is sweet! I want you all to know I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the the gospel. I know God is mindful of each one of us. Our individual trials are to strengthen and teach us, if we let them. Prayer, scriptures study, and other gospel principles are a necessity.
Look for God's tender mercies in your lives! I love you!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!

Hola!
Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo day, I hope you all celebrated cause we sure did! It was so much fun to have something to do and something to look forward to. Our event planner Stevie decided to have a big party and talked the chef's into helping so all day the chefs cooked up a storm. For dinner we had tacos with slow roasted beef in a spicy sauce and chicken with green chilies and then of course we had beans and rice. It was so much fun! All afternoon the chefs had Mexican music blasting as they cooked on the grill outside, the event girls filled a pinata, decorated the barn, and hung signs all over the resort. It was such a fun atmosphere! Then that night we had a big party in the barn. The chefs were kind enough to make several different types of salsa and homemade chips for us, lemonade with little umbrella, we had the disco ball going and we had couches and van seats every where to watch the three amigos on a big screen. The barn was a little cold, but it was so much fun. Who doesn't like candy from a pinata, chips/salsa, and a good movie? Fun stuff! I'll post a picture as soon as I get it from stevie.

sunday randomness....
Hey,
Maybe I should type a report tonight because I have a small chip on my shoulder, but I'll try to be happy.
I had a bloody nose today, I haven't had one of those in a long time. I forgot how much I hate them!
We had a "nature group" check in today and they are getting in touch with their native American roots. They are the hippie-granola-bead wearing people (men, women, and children). We were told that on a certain night we are not allowed by their cabins because they are doing a "natural" dance---code word they will be dancing around all naked, but doing it in nature so to connect to their roots. I think it's funny :) I can totally see that group dancing in the nude. The staff is all very curious, we want to see, but not......I wish I could say I would have an update on that, but I probably won't.
Today I went to church with Lucy's fam, that was fun to see them. I can't believe colin is graduating!!! Where have the years gone? Not to mention, Lucy is probably the best cook ever. She sent me home with some yummy pasta salad and her to die for rolls. Thanks for taking care of me!
We've had lots of foreign people check in lately. Lots of people from Canada and the Netherlands. It's fun to hear their accents, but hard to communicate with them. Anyone have a good way to describe what an ATV is? We have to explain to each guest about our ATV insurance policy and this week we've sure struggled! I'd love some suggestions.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do the grand canyon? I want to go but don't know where to stay, where to hike, etc. If anyone has been there I would love some advice....or better yet a travel partner!
Monday is almost here, hope everyone is ready. No matter where I am I seem to struggle with starting a new week.
I'm glad my family is home safe from a week on the beach...the girls got to swim with the dolphin's, go to Disney land, sea world, and the beach. If they went more often I might have to be jealous :)
Thanks for all the love and support, I wouldn't be the person I am today without my ever faithful, loving fan club. I love you guys!

Happy Saturday
Well another week has come and gone. Time just flies here, I can remember the date, but not the day. It's quite irritating! Things are going good, it's starting to get busy and with that comes an adjustment period. This week we have had several not so good mess ups. Last night at 11:30pm I got a call from the emergency line at the front desk and it was a guest that wasn't supposed to come in. I had to run up in my Pj's and get their keys.
This week they have been doing a control burn around us and the smoke has turned the sky totally gray. Yesterday the smoke was so bad it made my eyes hurt. However, I find the smell quite comforting. I guess growing up in fire country I've associated fire with summer, so I find the smell quite pleasant.
Not much to report on, I don't work until 2pm most days so I'm struggling with finding stuff to do in the mornings. I guess I should find something to do. Maybe I'll go on a walk.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
